The anime, however, fails because of the fact that it tries to jump between some random comedy and some serious events. What is more, there was even good drama in it. What I mean is that I am standing on 1,000,000 lives has everything for it to be good, but its main problem is that it failed to portray the story as it was in the manga: dark and there was some feel hopelessness about it. While it is indeed not a something you would call unique, you would not call it cliché, either. If you toss a coin, it lands heads, but also tails. Long story short, it means that the universe splits into multiple realities that exist in parallel at the same space and time as our own. I am standing on 1,000,000 lives uses the concept called the many-worlds interpretation, a term that is used in quantum mechanics. And let us not forget the fact that the story has a thing, or two to offer. The main problem I see is that the manga managed to make it something more than just a generic isekai, there was something dark about it. How can you even survive battles as a Farmer?!Īs a manga reader, I am disappointed. However, the problem arises, when his party members get the roles of a Magician and a Warrior, but Yotsuya Yuusuke randomly gets a Farmer. You can even resurrect your allies within 30 seconds. Death is not a problem, if the party does not get completely wiped. As soon as they arrive in the said world, the three meet a Game Master, who then grants them a time-limited quest.
And one day it gets even worse, he finds himself together with the two girls he knows in a new world. He has no aim in his life, he does not know who he wants to be, where to continue his education, nothing. Every single day is like a poison and it makes it worse and worse to the point that one day you do not care about anything. It is difficult to have no aim in your life. ‘Having no aim in life is like a poison that will kill you sooner or later.’ Tasked with numerous quests that increase in difficulty over time, Yotsuya, Shindou, and Hakozaki attempt to discover the mystery behind the perplexing game world. There is one thing that separates this world from the real world: anyone who dies will be brought back to life in 30 seconds as long as one party member is alive. He soon finds out that he has been brought into a game world by Shindou and Hakozaki and that he must complete a quest within 14 days. Dropping into a large pool of water, the first thing he sees when he comes to his senses is an assortment of enormous monsters. Mere moments later, Yotsuya enters a state of free-fall, and the world begins to change around him. But when he looks away from the two and back again, they have seemingly disappeared. At the end of one school day, he sees the popular athlete Iu Shindou talking to Kusue Hakozaki, who spends less time in school due to illness. He would rather thrive in a virtual world than try to get along with those around him. Yuusuke Yotsuka has always disliked Tokyo, but he especially hates the people who live in it.
